Police Foil Attack on APC Chairman's Residence in Kano

The Kano State Police Command successfully thwarted an attempted attack on the residence of the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Abbas.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Command's spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, detailed the events leading to the intervention. According to Kiyawa, a distress call was received on May 31 at approximately 6 PM, reporting violent activities near Chiranchi Junction in Gwale Local Government Area.
"Reports indicated that armed thugs were hurling stones and attempting to force their way into the residence of the APC chairman," Kiyawa said.
The rapid response team, led by the officer in charge of the Gwale division, arrived promptly at the scene, dispersing the assailants and restoring order.
While no arrests were made at the scene, initial investigations revealed that the incident stemmed from a clash between two rival gangs, identified as Abdul'Yassar, also known as Jonny, Birbiri, and Jinjiri Aljan.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects involved in the conflict. Kiyawa noted that patrols in the area have been intensified both day and night to prevent further disturbances.
"The police force is dedicated to ensuring the security of all Kano State residents, and this swift action underscores our commitment to protecting the community," Kiyawa stated.
He assured local residents that security measures have been enhanced to allow them to continue their daily activities without fear for their safety.
"We urge all law-abiding citizens to provide timely and accurate information regarding suspicious activities to enable us to take immediate action," Kiyawa concluded.
The police continue to call for public cooperation in maintaining peace and security across the state.
